Florida Stone Fabricator Makes Donation to Local Nonprofit

August 3, 2017

NSM Florida Enterprises, known as NSMotif, a female-owned and family-operated countertop fabrication company in Central Florida, donated $1,350 to SafeHouse of Seminole, a non-profit organization dedicated to domestic abuse prevention, intervention and protection. The donation will be earmarked for the purchase of groceries for the SafeHouse, where nearly 400 women and children rely annually on temporary shelter as they escape abusive relationships and transition to safer living facilities.

“We are always so grateful to companies like NSMotif who see the value in our organization’s programs and services,” said Mary Skorepa, director of administration for SafeHouse of Seminole. “Thanks to generous business owners like Karen, we are able to increase our efforts toward ending the cycle of domestic violence in Seminole county.”

Throughout the month of May, in honor of Mother’s Day and National Home Remodeling Month, NSMotif founder and president, Karen Roe, held a promotion where customers could select countertop material free of charge and only pay labor costs for their kitchen or bath project. A big believer in giving back to the local community, Roe wanted to take the promotion a step further and add a charitable aspect. A portion of the proceeds were designated for SafeHouse of Seminole, an organization that Roe feels connected to the company’s mission and work in the Orlando area.

“Part of the vision behind my business was built on the idea of educating and helping others create a space that is uniquely theirs with quality products where they can call home,” said Roe. “But I realize this dream isn’t easily accessible to everyone. Everyone needs help and support from others as they pave their way to success, and I want to do my part in serving others. Everyone deserves safety and happiness.”
