April 15, 2014

KRUPS has partnered with champion barista Samuel Lewontin, who will share his expertise and passion for creating coffee recipes at home using the company’s appliances.

Working as a barista since 2001, Sam can currently be found behind the bar at Everyman Espresso in New York City, where he serves as general manager for the espresso bar’s two locations in Union Square and the recently opened SoHo shop. Sam is also an experienced barista competitor, most recently winning the 2011 SCAA Northeast Regional Barista Competition and placing 4th at the 2013 United States Barista Championships.

“We are thrilled to partner with Sam, a true coffee connoisseur who has received national recognition from the United States Barista Championship and the Specialty Coffee Association of America,” said Michele Lupton, marketing communications director for KRUPS and Groupe SEB North America. “Demonstrating great talent and a shared passion for coffee and espresso, Sam will bring his expertise as well as his thoughtful consideration of quality products to his partnership with KRUPS. Together with Sam, KRUPS will continue to share barista-quality coffee recipes with fans and coffee lovers, utilizing the professional-grade coffee, espresso and fully-automatic machines from KRUPS.”

To kick off the partnership, Sam attended the recent 2014 International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago. There, he shared his coffee and espresso expertise, demonstrating the latest machines and upcoming product launches from KRUPS while serving coffee and espresso drinks.
