LG Studio Wins Two Design-Centric Awards
June 17, 2016
LG Studio, a line of kitchen appliances from LG Electronics, has been recognized with two honors – a gold Appliance DESIGN Excellence in Design Award and a gold A’ DesignAward – for the Nate Berkus-inspired LG Studio gas slide-in range.
“The LG Studio suite of kitchen appliances embodies the intersection of high-end design and technological innovation,” said David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing, LG Electronics USA. “We’re honored to have received gold-level recognition in both of these competitions, acknowledging our LG Studio range for excellence in both form and function.”
Appliance DESIGN’s Excellence in Design awards recognize the LG Studio range, model LSSG3016ST, for outstanding achievement in product innovation, design and functionality, as selected by a panel of industry experts. The award judges consider product simplicity, strong functionality for the user, innovation, energy savings and environmental footprint, and LG Studio’s gas slide-in range received the top award in the major appliances and commercial vending category.
The A’ Design Awards are judged by a jury of academics, press members, designers and industry experts from around the world to recognize the most well-designed products from dozens of categories – from furniture to garment design. According to A’ Design, this award is an indicator of excellence and innovation in design and functionality, and is known internationally as a seal of approval for outstanding quality. The LG Studio gas slide-in range received the “golden” designation in the home appliance category.
Renowned interior designer and LG Studio Artistic Advisor Nate Berkus advised on the design of the range, and his influence is reflected in the range’s pro-style, flat-design control panel with durable, robust metal knobs, a tilted display with SmoothTouch glass controls and a distinctive, sleek wave handle. The range is also functional, featuring 6.3 cu. ft. of capacity and LG’s new ProBake Convection technology, which provides optimal heat distribution by moving the heating element from the bottom of the oven to the back. When cooking is through, the range makes cleanup simple with LG’s EasyClean technology, which provides a quick and convenient way for homeowners to clean their oven, while also still being able to use the conventional self-cleaning method.
