Sherwin-Williams Encourages Emerging Talent
March 12, 2014
Sherwin-Williams is inviting up-and-coming residential and commercial design talent to participate in its fourth-annual STIR Student Design Challenge. New this year, two design experts will serve as judges alongside Jackie Jordan, director of color marketing for Sherwin-Williams.
“The annual Student Design Challenge encourages young designers to show their skills and creativity in both the commercial or residential design realms,” said Jordan. “We are excited to have two industry leaders participate in the entry judging to help us identify the country’s best up-and-coming design talent.”
First-place winners in each category will receive cash prizes of $2,500 and will be featured in Sherwin-Williams’ STIR Magazine. Second-place winners will receive $1,000 and third-place winners $500. Contest winners will be featured in the STIR eExtra email newsletter, on the Sherwin-Williams Facebook page for design professionals and at sherwin-williams.com.
Ernesto Garcia of Ernesto Garcia Interior Design will join with Jordan on residential design category submissions, while Tamara Bopp, director of interior design for Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford, will team up for the commercial category.
Students may submit entries to the commercial or residential design category and must use a minimum of three Sherwin-Williams colors. Students may enter as individuals or as a design team. Entries will be accepted at swstudentdesign.com through April 15, 2014.
