Winners of Cheng Concrete’s Kitchen and Bath Concrete Maker Challenge Announced

 Winning project by Jonathan Seaman of Infinistone Concrete & Design

CHENG Concrete has announced the winners of its Kitchen & Bath Concrete Maker Challenge that was launched earlier this fall. The overall winner, who was chosen by the company’s founder Fu-Tung Cheng, was Jonathan Seaman of Infistone Concrete & Design in Lexington, Ky., for his “Integral Guitar Sink,” which uses a custom-made, retro-style microphone as a faucet.

The challenge was open to DIY or professional concrete makers and had to incorporate one of the following products from CHENG Concrete: Countertop Pro-Formula, NeoMix Original or D-FRC (Decorative Fiber Reinforced Concrete), which was used in the winning sink. 

                                           

                                            Runner-up went to Chris Ossenfort of Dallas

The runner up of for the Fu-Tung Cheng Award was Chris Ossenfort of Dallas for his entry, “Kitchen Dining Table – Walnut & Concrete,” a DIY project made with a solid walnut slab and CHENG Countertop Pro-Formula in stone. 


People’s Choice winner Zebrawood Vanity and Sink by Andrew Seaman

A People’s Choice Award winner was also announced among 34 national and international entries. The project with the most votes went to “Zebrawood Vanity and Sink” by Andrew Seaman of Frederick, Md. Part of an 18-month home remodel, the integral ramp sink vanity was created for a half-bath with CHENG Countertop Pro-Formula in Charcoal. 


People’s Choice Runner Up project by Jelsson Batista

Two runner ups for the People’s Choice Award included the “Johns Residence” bathroom vanity by Jelsson Batista of Batista Group, Delray Beach, Fla., and Denver-based Greyscape Studio’s “The Curve,” an integral kitchen sink and countertop.
