Charleston Forge Promotes Gwaltney

January 31, 2022

Charleston Forge has announced the promotion of Kelly Gwaltney to vice-president of their Glass Division. Charleston Forge, long known for their handmade steel and wood furniture, is also the sales and marketing arm for Andrew Pearson Glass in Mt. Airy, N.C. Gwaltney, who had been working in the role as sales manager for glass sales, will now be focused on the expansion of specialty glass sales in kitchen, bath and hospitality sectors. Gwaltney joined Charleston Forge in 2015 as customer service manager. She has worked in the furniture industry since 1996 in such roles as account manager and product development for Taylor King & Bentley Churchill.

Similar to Charleston Forge, Andrew Pearson Glass is a family-owned company long renowned for the quality of their products and the innovative approach to design and the use of their respective materials. Andrew Pearson is best known for their specialty glass that sees application not only as table tops, but as kitchen and bathroom countertops in hospitality and residential situations.

The use of glass in furniture manufacturing is most commonly associated with table tops. Andrew Pearson’s approach to glass takes it well beyond that, and the company boasts the largest fused-glass production facility in the U.S., staffed by skilled craftsmen and women who customize thick glass countertops, table tops, and other premium products using materials ranging from half-inch laminates to unique, multi-layered and textured, three-inch-thick glass that is fused in a kiln.
