Howard’s Names Supply Chain & Logistics VP

June 11, 2021

Howard’s, a Southern California independent appliance retailer, announced that Brian Doran has joined its team as supply chain and logistics VP. In his role with the premium luxury retailer, Doran will be responsible for managing third-party relationships, all DC activities, operations, and staff to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain. He will directly report to Kathy Genovese, Howard’s chief operating officer.

Doran brings more than 18 years of supply chain and logistics experience to Howard’s. He began his career in logistics with Target Corp., moving to Best Buy in 2005, where he worked his way up to supply chain regional market director for Southern California. Doran holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

“Brian joins Howard’s at a time of record growth and expansion and his background in operations management, innovation, supply chain and logistics management, leadership and driving revenue will be fully leveraged with our team,” said John Riddle, president & CEO, Howard’s. “As we expand our footprint throughout Southern California, it is essential that we have leaders who are creative problem solvers – critical thinkers who understand the complexities of expansion while sustaining growth and service goals. Brian will play a significant role in our continued development, as well as in helping our strategic behind-the-scenes efforts excel.”

As Howard’s maintains its unprecedented growth in the luxury retail appliance market, Doran’s ability to engage others, build long-term relationships, work collaboratively and sustain consistent operational efficiency as supply chain and logistics VP will be integral to the brand’s success.

Howard’s dedication to luxury appliance sales and the 2020 introduction of its first experience center at Marina Pacifica in Long Beach led to a 42% year-over-year revenue growth and a 57% increase in premium appliance sales over 2019.

The retailer also saw a 44% growth in new customer business in Q1 of 2021. Howard’s will open a new experience center in West Hollywood in Fall 2021 and will remodel their Huntington Beach (summer 2021) and Irvine (winter 2021) locations for a total of four experience centers throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties, with more to come in 2022. The retailer also has large showrooms throughout Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
