Showplace Cabinetry Announces New CEO, Promotions and New Hires

Showplace Cabinetry President & CEO Bill Allen

January 22, 2021

Showplace Cabinetry President Bill Allen has added CEO to his title, following the Dec. 31, 2020, retirement of Paul Sova, one of the founding partners of the Harrisburg, SD-based cabinet manufacturing company. Allen assumed the duties of president in January 2020, after serving as chief operating officer and long-time vice president of manufacturing for Showplace Cabinetry.

Allen was recruited by founding president and CEO Tony Bour nearly 20 years ago to manage materials and manufacturing, and quickly moved into a leadership position, playing a key role in innovating the product and several manufacturing processes Showplace uses today.

“Showplace Cabinetry has always been a manufacturer that values new ideas and innovation,” said Allen. “Everyone here has a passion for excellence and a willingness to go the extra mile to craft the finest cabinetry in North America.”

Allen stepped into the role of president and CEO of Showplace Cabinetry Jan. 1, 2021, and is currently evaluating and strengthening the company’s executive leadership structure.

New Marketing Hires

Showplace Cabinetry

With the retirement of founding partner Scott Korsten, who most recently served Showplace Cabinetry as director of marketing, the company has broadened the scope of this vital department with people new to the marketing group.

Jon Bour, an 18-year veteran at Showplace, has added marketing to his title, becoming vice president of sales and marketing. Bour has been a cabinet industry professional his entire career, working in sales, company development and dealer coordination. Bour came to Showplace in 2009 as regional sales manager and was named director of national sales in 2018.

While maintaining his duties working with independent Showplace dealers and sales representatives throughout North America, Bour will coordinate sales and marketing initiatives for Showplace, achieving new levels of communication to enhance the efficiency of both departments.

“Jon has been a trusted member of the Showplace leadership team for years,” said Allen. “His background in sales and in the dynamics of the cabinet industry have been integral to the growth of our company during the past decade. We’re excited about bringing his expertise to our marketing strategy.”

Hannah Gebauer is the new director of marketing for Showplace Cabinetry, reporting directly to Bour and working with a marketing group of three seasoned Showplace employee-owners. In her new Showplace position, Gebauer will oversee development of consumer sales literature and information, dealer communications and an extensive range of online and social media outreach programs. Most recently an account executive at Sioux Falls-based Paulsen Marketing, Gebauer collaborated there with all internal departments including creative, media, analytics, web, finance and strategy departments, giving her hands-on experience with all aspects of modern marketing.

“The range of Hannah’s experience and the energy she brings to her work make her a perfect fit for Showplace,” Bour said. “We’re looking forward to taking our marketing programs to a new level with Hannah in a leadership role.”

Allen announced Jeremy Seykora as the company’s new director of manufacturing. Seykora will oversee manufacturing operations for the Showplace framed cabinet and ShowplaceEVO manufacturing facilities in Harrisburg, SD, and the Showplace door plant in Beresford, SD. Seykora is a 20-year veteran at Showplace, having started his career on the production line in the paint department. After moving up through a variety of production jobs and responsibilities, he moved into Quality Tech in 2011 and was named product manager for the cabinet manufacturing plant in 2013. Seykora became manufacturing manager for ShowplaceEVO in July 2015, which has been his position since.

“Jeremy learned about our process and our products from the ground up,” said Allen. “His expertise in manufacturing systems management has helped make ShowplaceEVO a leader in the industry, and he will continue to enhance our production process in this new leadership role. We’re excited to have Jeremy working with all three of our manufacturing facilities.”

Rodriguez is a 15-year veteran at Showplace, having started his career in the paint department and rising to the post of group leader in paint in 2012. After five years as group leader, he transferred to the ShowplaceEVO plant to supervise production.

“Melchor has proven his knowledge of the EVO product and the manufacturing steps that keep Showplace at the forefront of our industry,” said Seykora. “His leadership skills and production experience will be vital assets to the growth of our ShowplaceEVO facility.”
