Sustainable Furnishings Council Announces Esteemed Team of Ambassadors

August 4, 2020

The Sustainable Furnishings Council is pleased to announce this year’s SFC Ambassadors, a team of dedicated professionals who have chosen to lend their images, reputations, and talents to the advancement of their mission of more sustainable and conscientious design choices.

In order to create lasting impact, we need role models who exemplify the tenets of sustainability in design, paving the way and leading by example for future design leaders. We need profile as well as expertise to accelerate change in our industry. This year’s team of nine SFC Ambassadors include such illustrious names as: Corey Damen Jenkins, Thom Filicia, Libby Langdon, Breegan Jane, Laura Hodges, John Eason, Jennifer Jones, Anelle Gandelman, and Laurence Carr. Each ambassador brings with them their own unique perspective on the topic of sustainability, particularly as it relates to the world of design. In their role as ambassadors, they hope their leadership and advocacy will help ensure this planet remains a viable home for future generations.

This year’s SFC Ambassadors:

Corey Damen Jenkins is new to SFC Membership, but has known the organization since 2017 when he appeared on a panel in High Point with SFC member Robin Baron.

Thom Filicia has been an SFC Ambassador since the program began as DESIGINGreen Leaders in 2009. He has license with Vanguard Furniture, an SFC Founding Member. Thom also serves on the SFC Board of Directors.

Libby Langdon has been an enthusiastic SFC Member since 2015. Libby is on the SFC Board of Directors.

Breegan Jane has been an active supporter since being introduced to SFC through Founding Member Phillips Collection in 2018.

Laura Hodges graduated GREENleaders and so became a GREEN Accredited Professional in 2017. Her firm has been an SFC Member since 2018.

John Eason has been acquainted with SFC since 2010, and first served the organization as a speaker at an event at Las Vegas Market in early 2015, when his firm was a new SFC member.

Jennifer Jones is new to SFC membership, but has a standing commitment to the cause, having formed her company of all LEED AP staff to ensure operational practices support environmental safety, both inside and outside.

Anelle Gandelman graduated GREENleaders, becoming a GREEN Accredited Professional in April 2020, and her firm became an SFC Member then, too.

Laurence Carr completed GREENleaders in November 2018, and her firm became active in membership, organizing SFC participation in events with Circular City in 2019 and 2020.

Each ambassador has made a 12-month commitment to representing SFC mission through their ambassadorship, helping promote the ideals of sustainability, wellness, and justice through their social platforms and public image.
