Antoniolupi Tramato Containers

March 21, 2022

Antoniolupi expands Tramato, a collection of carpets in collaboration with Gumdesign, to include containers, consoles and bookcases.

With the Tramato containers, the brand adds another sophisticated piece to the innovative research and experimentation project Tra Le Righe. There is a simple and complex idea at the base of everything — that that the tessellation of three-dimensional surfaces and volumes can take place starting from a simple and at the same time elegant element, such as a line or a geometric shape which, par excellence, we associate with the concepts of infinity, evolution and energy. When the line leaves the flat surface and starts chasing edges, folds and cavities, the plot drawn through the weaving and alternation of black and white becomes legible to a greater degree of complexity — the play of solids and voids, of lights and shadows, inside and out, of content and container.

Tramato, which used to be Antoniolupi‘s collection of carpets, is now also a console and bookcase. Therefore, this item leaves the space of the bathroom without going too far. Or, rather, it becomes a link between the rest of the house, leaving behind lines that become traces, to be seen and experienced through the senses, including touch, long forgotten and the deepest emotions. The Tramato metal containers, available in the pink and burnished variants, alternate the opaqueness of the perimeter structure and internal partition with semi-transparent frames applied on the front and back.

The latter have a dual function. The first, strictly aesthetic, is the design of composition and decomposition of the three-dimensional element. The second, functional, is of delimitation and containment of objects stored inside which, remaining visible, participate in the development of the project, taking it from an ideal plan to a real dimension of modern and sophisticated everyday life.
