Schumacher Miles Redd Collection

July 28, 2022

Schumacher introduces its second collection with designer Miles Redd. The collection is full of dramatic patterns, inventive fabrics and wallcoverings with beautiful flourishes that channel his signature look.

Known for his eye-catching color sensibility and playful mélange of high and low, Redd has a singular, standout style. Invigorated by a modernity rooted in classic decorating, his interiors are bold, whimsically inventive and beyond polished in their details. From Moroccan rugs and antique objets to the celebrated American style of Albert Hadley and Billy Baldwin, countless inspirations fuel Redd’s designs, which focus on living life in a beautiful way.

The new Schumacher collection features:

  • Dramatic patterns, inventive fabrics and beautiful flourishes that channel Redd’s signature look.
  • Designs fueled by countless inspirations, from Moroccan rugs and antique objets to the celebrated American style of Albert Hadley.
  • From beautifully oversized fabric and wallpaper panels down to embellished trims, this collection offers a complete Redd look.

Villa Palm Panel (WC)

Inspired by artwork in his personal collection, Redd’s Villa Palm Panel features two palms presented as classical columns topped with a showy crown of feather-like leaves. Done in soft focus and small scale, these wallpaper panels are designed to stand on their own or be cut up and used in a variety of ways.

Botticelli Silk Ruffle Trim

Redd’s Botticelli Silk Ruffle Trim is the stuff of accordion-pleated dreams and one of the designer’s signatures. Designed to create a fluted edge that flutters and cascades down a curtain, this four-inch-wide trim is made with our finest taffeta.

Broken Chevron Velvet

Redd was so charmed by a painted staircase photographed from above that he recreated it as Broken Chevron Velvet, a clever abstract cut-velvet fabric with a usable scale and lustrous hand.

Painterly Windowpane

Charmingly wonky and drawn on a grand scale, Painterly Windowpane is as graphic and dramatic as a windowpane pattern can get. This ode to classic American design is printed on a heavyweight cotton and linen duck fabric.

Coromandel Panel (WC)

Mysterious lakeside pagodas float in magical gardens beneath heavenly clouds in Coromandel, a wonderfully oversized 12-foot-high wallpaper panel with a two-panel repeat. Moody and suffused with rich painterly detail, this design was created in homage to a beloved antique Chinese screen.

Scattered Lilies

Brilliant white petals pop against the linen ground of Scattered Lilies, a tossed floral pattern. This fabric was inspired by the flowers in John Singer Sargent’s painting “Carnation Lily, Lily, Rose,” but its translation is old-fashioned linen chintz. It has the feeling of a 1930s house in Maine: slightly faded and lushly romantic.

Agate Slice (WC) (pictured)

Redd romances the stone with Agate Slice, which takes the look of polished crystal to a chic and thrilling place. Arranged with an abstract pattern and finished with a high-gloss coat, this wallcovering has an incredible sheen that’s as good as real.

Porphyry (WC)

Redd created this wallcovering to replicate the luxe surface of beguiling antique porphyry, with some colors of his own invention and others that remain true to the crystal-studded stone that has been mined in the deserts of Egypt since the 1st century AD and used decoratively ever since. This rich glossy wallcovering creates a dramatic backdrop for your own life-size jewel box.

Ribbon Appliqué

Redd’s Ribbon Appliqué stuns with a couture fashion–inspired quality. Embellished with grosgrain ribbons of graduating widths, this 12-foot-tall fabric panel makes dramatic curtains and shades that are as surprising as they are beautiful. As an upholstery fabric, it gives furniture a curious asymmetrical twist. Run it on the bias; make your stripes horizontal or vertical. The application will give it your own signature—and each piece will be individual.

Cubist

A geometric design in nonrepeating 96-in. panels with a stitched-together face made of silk taffeta, Cubist is one of the most technically complex fabrics we’ve ever produced. This fabric is a nod to the cubist paintings of Picasso and Braque.

Bespotted

Bespotted distills leopard spots down to their inventively abstracted essence. In creating this linen fabric, Redd turned to inspirations in a Moroccan rug and a vintage Albert Hadley illustration of a living room filled with a splashy hand-drawn pattern.

The Wave
