Fantin Hug Collection Stools
July 27, 2023
The Hug Collection designed by Giulio Iacchetti for Fantin has now been expanded thanks to the addition of new stools and tables. They all underline the corporate identity of the brand, which is renowned for its functional products with exceptionally clean-cut looks. Joints play a crucial part in structures of all kinds, although they are not usually conspicuous and sometimes not even visible at all, they give stability and solidity.
Giulio Iacchetti’s design deliberations first began to revolve around them back in 2011, when he put on a solo exhibition called “Cruciale–20 Crosses by Giulio Iacchetti” at the Diocesan Museum in Milan. Now they have taken shape in the Hug Collection by Fantin, which is a specialist manufacturer of metal furnishings and accessories. The name of the collection comes from the way in which Iacchetti managed to join together the slightly slanting round tube legs and the horizontal frames with the same cross sections. The horizontal frames literally hug the legs, clinching them in the curves running around their outlines in a combination that comprehensively performs its structural role while also giving the tables and the new stools a highly distinctive look
The collection has been expanded this year, with the addition of new stools–with round seats with a diameter of 35 cm and a choice of three heights (42 cm, 65 cm and 75 cm)–and new round tables with four legs. As has become customary, all of the items in the Hug Collection are available with non-toxic powder coatings in 35 distinct colors.
