Spacekit Loom Artist Series

November 26, 2022

Designed by Andi Blady, Spacekit/ATOMIC production designer, the second edition in the Spacekit Acoustic Art series, Loom, is now available for spaces that need both color and acoustic function.

Blady’s creation, Loom, blends beautiful lines with complementary colors to create a modern and sophisticated look. As the newest design to join the Spacekit Acoustic Art collection, it features an abstract take on weaving and stitching along with some irregularity for visual interest. While some may spy the notion of tapestries and quilts, Loom can also recall the whimsy of potholder looms that many people created in elementary school art class.

For inspiration, Blady built upon the existing patterns in the Spacekit Acoustics collection, three designs called Squarehaus, Roundhaus and Geo-Shapes, which are all Bauhaus-inspired.

While visually striking, the collection also offers functional benefits. Acoustic properties are gained by a field of durable, 0.4-in.-thick felt at the center of each panel. Each of the three panel colorways, which stem from researched Bauhaus color theory, are paired with interchangeable felt color options. This sound dampening artwork minimizes echoes and helps remove unwanted acoustics, earning a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) Rating of 0.40. Residential environments can be rendered less noisy by hanging a 19.7-by-19.7-in. panel by itself or grouped with additional panels to configure a custom arrangement.

Bring Loom Home

The Loom design, which will be signed by the artist, features three different colorways to choose from and is hung using the Spacekit modular art system.

This innovative framework features:

  • Sustainably designed panels made from ACRETM, a 100%, tree-free wood alternative composed of upcycled rice hulls free of phenol, formaldehyde and adhesives.
  • An easy-to-install, no-tools-required recyclable framing system that includes self-leveling guides and spacers.
  • Flat-pack shipping delivered right to your door.

The new Spacekit Artist Series was developed to showcase personalized designs derived from the brand’s team of artists. Through this limited-edition series, Spacekit celebrates each artist’s unique creative style, derived from meaningful influences and their personal and professional experiences.
