As the 2019 Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards approach, Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) is thrilled to announce this year’s finalists. The 15 finalists represent the Southeast’s most innovative creators and exemplify the highest level of talent in the categories of residential design, contract design, and architecture. Entries were received from ADAC’s 10-state region, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Finalists were selected by a panel of three acclaimed judges including VERANDA Editor-in-Chief Steele Marcoux, interior designer Bunny Williams and architect Roger Seifter. Winners will be announced at a private gala on Thursday, April 25.

“We are grateful to have the perspectives of design icon Bunny Williams, renowned architect Roger Seifter, and VERANDA’s Steele Marcoux to judge the Southeast Designers and Architects of the Year Awards,” said Katie Miner, general manager of ADAC. “These awards are held in high regard by the design community because the people and firms submitting know that the judges are highly qualified to appreciate and understand the work before them. Across the board, the quality of work from throughout the region stood out because it reflected a definite evolution of design in the Southeast. There was graciousness, elegance and a reverence for history and tradition in abundance, but there was also tremendous diversity in how those quintessentially Southern elements were executed.”

The 2019 Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards coincides with ADAC’s annual spring market week, DESIGN ADAC, which is hosted in partnership with VERANDA and takes place April 23–25.

“The South is an epicenter for stylish design, and this year’s Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards entrants prove the region’s influence on architecture and interior design is not to be overlooked,” said Marcoux. “I feel honored – and inspired – to have been a part of this process!”
