The Kips Bay Decorator ShowHouse, hosted by youth organizations Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, has announced the location of its fourth-annual Show House in Florida, which will enlist talented interior designers from across the nation to transform a Mediterranean-style waterfront home in the South of Southern (“SoSo”) neighborhood of West Palm Beach. Veranda will serve as the program’s exclusive national media sponsor and Steele Marcoux, editor in chief of Veranda; Ellie Cullman and Joy Moyler will serve as design co-chairs.

Located at ​7417 South Flagler Drive ​and owned by ​Christopher Wofford, an investment banker who has renovated properties in Boston, Nantucket and New York City, ​the 4,400-sq.-ft. Mediterranean villa comprises five bedrooms, six bathrooms,  and a formal living and dining room, together with lush landscaped grounds. Two key features of the home are a 30-ft. atrium in the main living space and direct water views of the Intracoastal from every room in the house. The villa provides three outdoor terraces, a tropical pool area and direct access to Flagler beach—bringing together elements of both indoor and outdoor Florida living.

“Our goal is to continually build on the success of each year’s show houses—constantly raising the bar—and this year, we’re thrilled to secure a beautiful location that will play home to the talents of a new set of renowned designers,” said James Druckman, president of the board of the Kips Bay Boys &Girls Club and president and CEO of the New York Design Center. “We’re delighted to return to Palm Beach to raise critical funds for Boys & Girls Clubs in New York and Florida and serve as a source of inspiration for the public and designers alike after a very unprecedented year.”

Due to COVID-19, this year’s Show House will be a hybrid event—offering both in-person and virtual experiences. For those who wish to enjoy the work of this year’s design talent first-hand, the Show House will be implementing the proper precautions to protect participating designers and guests who choose to visit, including limiting the number of attendees. Admission tickets will be sold for specific dates and times to ensure guest count allows for ample social distancing. In addition, all guests and employees of the house will be required to wear masks, and health screenings will be conducted for all staff. There will be increased cleaning and sanitation throughout the house.

“Events like the Show House allow our Clubs to continue our mission to help as many young people as possible,” stated Robert Dunkin, chairman of the board of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. “With the new safeguards in place this year, our hope is that the event will be another step towards recovery for our community while also helping to fund crucial Boys & Girls Club programs throughout Palm Beach County and the Bronx, New York.

“Our Clubs have met the increased challenges brought on by the pandemic, but more work is needed to care for our community’s most vulnerable children. We thank the decorators, donors and attendees of the Show House for ensuring that our Clubs will continue to be a beacon of hope for thousands of families.”

The Show House will be open to the public April 8- May 9, 2021, with an Opening Day Preview Reception on April 7, 2021. All proceeds will benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, who together serve 20,000 youth, ages 6 through 18.
