Except for the showroom entries, all projects were judged by certified designers from another NKBA chapter and criteria included:
- Design planning based on NKBA Kitchen & Bath Planning Guidelines with Access Standards
- Presentation based on NKBA Graphics and Presentation Standards for Floor Plans and Elevations
First-Time Entry/Large Bath Winner
This spa-inspired primary bath by Riddhi Patel of Interiors by Identity Design was transformed from a disorganized, cluttered space into a luxurious and relaxing retreat. The color palette matches both clients’ needs, and the new bath includes a toilet area, a freestanding tub and his-and-her vanities. A wall next to her vanity is home to a niche and shelves for her daily products. The frameless shower offers a rainhead for a complete bathing experience. Photo credit: Anastasia Alkema
Product brands include: Aero Pure, Amba, Kohler, MSI Surfaces, Schluter Systems, Signature Hardware, Sonoma Forge, Tilebar and TOTO.
Large Kitchen Winner
This centered-on-nature kitchen by Cailin Thelen, CMKBD, of Thelen Designs LLC and Rocco Sinisgalli of Oneida Builders Inc. highlights the homeowners’ love of the outdoors, folk art and color. The new space, which includes an addition, is large enough for entertaining and prepping at the same time. Folding windows and doors and a pass-through at the kitchen sink allow a seamless indoor/outdoor transition. Storage space was increased with a recessed appliance garage, pull-out waste bins and larger drawers. Photo credit: Rebecca Bockman
