Showing off Atlanta’s Kitchen and Bath Showrooms
August 4, 2017
Four kitchen- and bath-related showrooms recently have opened or are opening soon at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center, more commonly known as ADAC. ADAC is open to designers, architects, builders and specifiers and serves as a venue to get the creative juices stirring and to specify everything from marble tile to textiles to kitchen cabinets.
KBB recently visited the four new showrooms and got an in-depth look into each company’s offerings and learned some fun facts as well.
German Kitchen Center
This company carries three specific kitchen lines, including Team 7, Leicht and Nobilia. It owns its own sawmill and doesn’t waste any materials in production. Team 7 is the German Kitchen Center’s top-level brand of cabinets and furniture made of solid wood. This sustainable line does not include plywood or MDF, and a 20 linear ft. kitchen will run about $35,000.
Leicht offers the best value for the highest quality, and it is the number one-selling brand in Germany. It is offered in nine price points for various clients and features handle-less doors, which are easier to clean. The drawers feature standard glass sides, and available materials include concrete, glass, wood and lacquer. A kitchen in this line is about $20,000 for 20 linear feet.
Nobilia is on the lower end of the scale but doesn’t skimp on value. It is not as customizable as the other lines, but it does offer cabinet and drawer lighting that can be personalized. A kitchen in this line will run $12,000 for 20 linear feet.
This company prides itself on being a one-stop boutique tile manufacturer with production centers in Turkey and Italy. Stonelluxe offers everything from stone mosaics to field tiles, and they also provide custom designs. Its Atlanta warehouse carries its entire inventory, and some of its new products were launched in April at Coverings.
Mark Williams has designed two collections for the company; this year’s line offering more geometric shapes. Stonelluxe is vying for the hospitality market as well as residential and has launched a new line for hotels.
Angelica Gurel, owner of the showroom, says the neutral marbles are for clients who want to take less risks, classic whites never go out of style, and the most popular size right now is 12 by 24. She also said wood-look porcelain is trendy in both Florida and the Atlanta area, as real wood doesn’t hold up as well in humid climates.
The 60-year-old company is based in Italy and has had a presence in Atlanta for 16 years. This showroom covers the Southwest territory and displays several cabinetry lines. The eco-friendly entry line Eko features a textured laminate with tons of customizable options on the interior.
Dune is a curved, handle-less line that features a 17-step process for applying the high-gloss lacquer – just as one the collection’s available materials. Vintage is the company’s more traditional line and uses natural materials and creative finishes, and finally, Materika offers islands that extend to involve different areas of the home and cutting-edge wine cellars.
Bell Cabinetry & Design
This is a 27-year-old, third-generation, family-owned company largely based in Alpharetta, Ga. This showroom offers cabinets, cabinets and cabinets, as well as some hardware choices. They specialize in multi-family projects but can also take on one-off projects as well.
The Artisan line offers endless choices for designers to customize their clients’ cabinets. Heritage is a framed line with inset construction that is also flexible and customizable. Milano is the company’s foray into a more modern and contemporary look – a direction in which they see the Atlanta market moving. This line features slab doors, flat panels and natural materials like a textured wood grain.
According to Steven Gamper, a senior designer with Bell Cabinetry, they are not limited to kitchens and can tackle every room in the house.
Stonelluxe and Pedini at ADAC will host their grand openings on Aug. 24, and the German Kitchen Center’s grand opening is on Sept. 27, although they have already opened their doors for business. Alno is also opening a showroom at ADAC this year.
