Winners of Designer Open Call Contest Announced

October 22, 2017

ROHL has announced the winners of its second-annual Designer Open Call contest. Created in collaboration with Connecticut Cottages & Gardens magazine, the competition recognizes the exceptional designers and the innovative kitchen and bath designs they create featuring ROHL products. All entries were evaluated by a panel of judges from ROHL and required to feature a minimum of two ROHL products in each design.

“We are proud to honor the design professionals who have helped make ROHL a leader in authentic luxury decorative plumbing for the kitchen and bath industry, said Greg Rohl, vice president of marketing for ROHL. “The quality of this year’s entries was exceptional, and our judges had a difficult time selecting the final design-winning entries.”

After going through dozens of entries, two designers were selected for their outstanding kitchen and bath designs:

Kitchen Winner: Katherine Hodge, Southport, Conn.-based Sage Design

Katherine Hodge is an award-winning designer, and her aesthetic marries classic, sophisticated design with contemporary innovation. Her winning ROHL kitchen design needed to meet the demands of a busy family of seven. A large navy island with stainless steel countertops in the center of the room serves as the focal point, while the second sink and faucet combination is located along the kitchen’s perimeter. Both the island and perimeter feature the British-made Shaws Original Farmhouse Apron Front Kitchen Sink paired with a Perrin & Rowe Georgian Era Bridge Faucet, which complement the home’s quintessential Connecticut charm.

Bath Winner: Michelle Morgan, New Canaan, Conn.-based Morgan Harrison Home

Michelle Morgan is a former fashion editor turned principal designer. Her inviting color palettes and compelling blend of finishes are part of her signature style. Her winning ROHL bathroom design features a soft, sophisticated palette of white, gray and taupe accented by a faucet, tub filler and shower kit in polished-chrome finishes. Just like the series’ inspiration, the Palladian window, the space blends classic proportion with great Italian fashion.
