Chef Michael Scelfo Joins Fisher & Paykel as Brand Ambassador

September 22, 2020

Fisher & Paykel is pleased to announce a new partnership in the premium home appliance category with Michael Scelfo, an awarding-winning chef and restaurateur responsible for three culinary hotspots in Boston, including Alden & Harlow, Waypoint and The Longfellow Bar at Alden & Harlow. Aligned with Fisher & Paykel’s philosophy of the home kitchen as a social space, Chef Scelfo is passionate about creating a medium in which people can connect.

“I am honored to be the newest ambassador for Fisher & Paykel and DCS,” says Scelfo. “Their appliances offer the quality, features and benefits I look for when preparing a meal at home for family and friends.”

A family man, Scelfo enjoys sharing generational recipes and infusing new ideas into the dishes he prepares. Food, for Scelfo, is a conduit in life that is palpable through taste in the present and memory in the past. A natural conversion from his home kitchen to the kitchen of his now three restaurants, his passion to create conversation, bonds and memories around food remains constant. Scelfo’s menus reflect his personal and forward-thinking approach to coastal-inspired fare which marry his time spent along the Atlantic and Pacific shores.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chef Michael Scelfo into the Fisher & Paykel/DCS family,” says Fisher & Paykel’s president of North America, Kevin Dexter. “We share the same beliefs and values around the kitchen being the heartbeat of the home and the idea that there is a story behind every dish – from where it originates to a family member that inspired it.”

Throughout his career, Scelfo has taken time to examine his personal culinary perspective. He often found the answer in his own kitchen, surrounded by his wife and three children.

“For me, the kitchen and food are the backdrops of why people gather together. It’s really all about connecting people and providing the best experience to those you care about the most,” says Scelfo.

The success of Scelfo’s formula is proven in the attention both he and his restaurants have received. Accolades include recognition from the James Beard Foundation, Bon Appetit Magazine, The New York Times, Food & Wine, the Boston Globe, Boston Magazine and Condé Nast Traveler, which named Alden & Harlow as one of the “Best Restaurants in the World.”
