Geberit Welcomes Dominic Rice as New President and CEO

October 13, 2020

Geberit North America is pleased to announce that Dominic Rice has joined the company as President and CEO. Rice brings to this new role his extensive experience in the construction industry.

Rice takes over for Andreas Nowak, who was appointed President and CEO of Geberit North America in 2007. Nowak is leaving the company at his own request, returning to Europe to pursue other opportunities. The change will be effective November 1, 2020.

“I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved during my time at Geberit,” says Nowak. “Even during the most challenging times, the people I’ve worked with have consistently delivered amazing results for our customers. I know I’m leaving the company and those people in good hands.”

Rice will report to Ronald van Triest, head of sales international, and member of the group executive board.

“It’s important that any new leader be a good fit for such a long-established company as Geberit,” says van Triest. “With the addition of Dominic Rice, I’m confident we’ve found the right fit.”

Rice spent the bulk of his career at Armstrong World Industries, a globally operating manufacturer of floor coverings with headquarters in Lancaster, PA. Initially he held various posts in Australia in Marketing and Sales followed by various management positions, including managing director Australia and subsequently Head of global operations & manufacturing at Armstrong’s headquarters. Most recently, Rice was chief product officer & head of global operations at Armstrong Flooring.

“I am very excited to join the Geberit team,” says Rice. “Geberit has set the standard for quality in the plumbing industry for many decades now. It’s an honor to be given the opportunity to help continue that legacy of excellence.”

The globally operating Geberit Group is a European leader in the field of sanitary products. Geberit operates with a strong local presence in most European countries, providing unique added value when it comes to sanitary technology. The production network encompasses 29 facilities. The Group is headquartered in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland. In North America, Geberit provides concealed systems for wall-hung and floor-mounted toilets and fixtures. Geberit systems improve the look of any bathroom by hiding unsightly plumbing hardware. Replacing a standard toilet with the Geberit system results in more usable space, improved hygiene and better accessibility. The unique dual-flush valve saves water and is practically maintenance free. Geberit also offers cable-controlled bath waste and overflows in a variety of designer finishes. Critical working parts are outside the waterway, ensuring years of trouble-free operation. With around 12,000 employees in 50 countries, Geberit generated sales of CHF 3.1 billion in 2019. The Geberit shares are listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and have been included in the SMI (Swiss Market Index) since 2012.
