Privacy Glass Solutions BetweenGlassBlinds

February 11, 2022

Privacy Glass Solutions announced that the company has passed Insulated Windows Large Missile Level D and E Testing on its BetweenGlassBlinds products. This is the first glass encased operable blind unit in the industry to gain this accreditation.

In accordance with TAS 201-94, the BetweenGlassBlinds units underwent extensive testing to achieve this goal. Insulated Windows Large Missile Level D is the most common test and represents “large missile impact” known to protect against the strongest of hurricanes. The testing consists of a 9-pound 2-by-4 shot from an air cannon at 50 feet per second. This test is commonly referred to as an impact test.

Large Missile Level E is an enhanced impact protection rating and is specified in buildings and structures deemed as essential facilities, such as hospitals, fire rescue, police stations, emergency shelters and others. Insulated Windows Large Missile Level E testing is more rigorous and is performed by shooting a 9-pound 2-by-4 from an air cannon at 80 feet per second.

The BetweenGlassBlinds units withstood both tests without fail. To protect this proprietary product, the company has filed a utility patent and is currently Patent Pending.

BetweenGlassBlinds are mini blinds, sealed between two panes of glass. All units are cordless and are operated via a smooth, easy-to-use sliding magnet or via a motorized unit controlled with a remote. Simple to maintain, the blinds contained within the sealed unit are safe from dust and dirt.

Privacy Glass Solutions showcased this new unit at KBIS 2022.
