After a complete gut job of the original home, designer Tara Waits of Lakewood, Wash.-based Phase II Inc. created this custom kitchen for a young family looking to enjoy the nearby water views.
Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of the water outside, while a design focused on openness highlights the spaciousness of the kitchen.
Strategically placed storage allows for a more open-concept design.
“The client wanted to lighten the space, so high-gloss white was used, but to pull that back we added natural walnut. This grounded all of the elements to add warmth and interest,” said Waits.
The quartz countertops add durability and marry the metal finish and cabinet colors.
A coffee station is concealed behind warm walnut cabinet doors for a cohesive but efficient design.
