To maximize the hallway leading to the kitchen and living room, the cooktop needed to move to the opposite wall. To resolve the resulting venting problem, the Jennifer Gilmer team created a design feature: A dropped ceiling panel conceals the ductwork and waterfalls into an appliance garage cabinet. The construction is clad in Japanese ash wood.
Mixing door and drawer treatments, while keeping them consistent in proportion and color, keeps the space both lively and composed.
