The team at Jennifer Stoner Interiors developed their showroom kitchen as an inspirational design setting as well as to support entertaining clients and industry associates. It’s set in the Scott’s Addition neighborhood in Richmond, Va., a newly vibrant enclave of entrepreneurial undertakings, from microbreweries to galleries to boutiques. Recognized as a historic district, the area offers opportunities and incentives for reuse of buildings, many of them former industrial spaces.

Technological touches in the showroom include the Alexa-enabled Crue faucet from Kohler and a programmable Ketra lighting system that contributes to balancing circadian rhythms.

Appliances in the kitchen are geared towards hosting showroom events. The Monogram 5-in-1 wall oven is a favorite feature; said Stoner, “It makes the best 3 PM cookies in the world!” Finishes include a translucent Cristallo Azure quartzite countertop and the colorful Sail Fete marble mosaic from Artistic Tile.

The new location also includes a building-supply room stocked with cabinet, tile and flooring samples, including Stoner’s recently launched private flooring line. “It’s a great space for construction and renovation clients to come and see the products all in one setting,” she said.

At 5,000 sq. ft., the new space has room for several vignettes; the previous showroom was limited to one set-up, with a single couch. “We were lucky to snatch up the space when a company planning to open a bar backed out due to Covid,” Stoner said. “We were able to walk into a wide-open space that had already had some mechanical improvements made, yet provided us with a blank slate for our showroom.”
