For these homeowners, the kitchen is a significant part of their house and they wanted their new space to be both functional and beautiful. Jenny Madden of Hoboken, N.J.-based Jenny Madden Design reworked the layout to provide for their cooking and entertaining needs.
The clients were set on their 48-in. range, which is highlighted by two glass cabinets with decorative features on either side and a large, painted wood hood.
“The island is a workhorse but also a beautiful feature in the home,” said Madden. “It’s topped with a gorgeous natural quartzite slab; the veining picks up the blue-gray tones of the cabinetry below.”
For a master bath without access to natural light, the designer worked creatively to make sure it felt bright but not boring. A mix of neutral colors and textures – like a tile mosaic rug feature – accomplished this goal.
The shower boasts low-iron glass for pure transparency into the space.
