Jeremy Jones of Atlanta-based Jones Design Associates (JDA) was selected as the designer for custom home builder Arlene Dean’s home designs. Dean’s daughter approached JDA and architect Eric Rawlings of Rawlings Design to create a connected kitchen for her blended family and pets.
Builder clients in the Atlanta area wanted all the bells and whistles when it came to the connected elements in their new home. This includes smart appliances in their kitchen and a variable HVAC system that controls humidity throughout the home.
The concrete-look porcelain backsplash is less maintenance and more budget friendly than the actual material.
“The countertops for this connected kitchen are zero maintenance, made with partially recycled material, are highly scratch resistant and can withstand temperatures up to 2,000 degrees, meaning you can place cookware right on the countertop,” said designer Jeremy Jones of Jones Design Associates.
“The black granite composite sinks keep with our design aesthetic but are easy to keep clean, and the faucets have a unique shape and beautiful burnished-brass knurling that make them easy to grab and hold onto,” said the designer.
Every appliance in this connected kitchen is voice activated via Amazon Alexa, as are the door locks, HVAC system and lighting. There is also a cutting-edge smart system that measures and maintains air quality throughout the home, which will be fully available to consumers in the coming months.
