A rooftop condo overlooking the city of Milwaukee was designed to reflect the family that accommodated it – including the homeowners’ collection of bold and colorful artwork and their new urban lifestyle.
“The self-illuminating translucent upper cabinets and dramatic color-changing canopies play off the owners’ collection of bright, geometric artwork in the home,” said Richard Sherer, founder/CEO of Milwaukee-based Deep River Architects.
The main components of the design were clean horizontal lines, high-gloss white cabinets and metal details to reinforce the modern aesthetic. Natural zebrawood, glass tile and textural accents soften the rectilinear design.
The master bath boasts a private shower and toilet compartment, while the his-and-hers vanity spaces overlook the city views outside.
The powder room includes an interior-lit, onyx countertop that connects with the kitchen’s LED panels.
Other smart features in the project include light controls with preset room scenes, and state-of-the-art audio and video. Tablet and smartphone apps control all systems with ease.
