March 8, 2022
Luxury hardware brand Modern Matter has hired Meredith Gray as head of marketing. Gray’s appointment highlights the company’s commitment towards building a leading brand in the home fashion space.
She will lead the organization’s advertising, digital marketing, press relations and customer experience initiatives. Gray will be responsible for developing and executing strategies with the goal of increasing Modern Matter’s brand recognition, growing an ambitious trade program and delivering a world-class customer experience. Gray will report directly to Rish Malhotra, CEO Modern Matter.
“Meredith is an experienced marketing leader with an entrepreneurial mindset,” said Malhotra. “She has previously built strong marketing teams and believes in the power of storytelling; we are confident she will propel Modern Matter to the next level and deliver transformational growth.”
Most recently, Gray served as the director of communications for the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Virginia.
“Working in fine art for the last five years, I learned something new every day about art and storytelling,” said Gray. “Whether collecting art or luxury accents for the home, there’s a growing market of people that are eager to express themselves through their surroundings, and I look forward to sharing with consumers why investing in quality makes a difference.”
Previously, Gray worked as marketing manager for technology start-up Welligent, a SaaS developer, and managed marketing for Maersk Line Ltd., a global shipping company. Early in her career, she worked in e-commerce, housewares merchandising and later for a business media company specializing in home building publications.
“Modern Matter is filling a gap in the luxury home space by introducing unique, high-quality hardware that’s easily accessible to consumers,” said Gray. “Through thoughtfully created partnerships with some of America’s most admired interior and product designers, Modern Matter’s growing product lines are expanding the impact hardware can have in a space. Amongst consumers, I look forward to growing awareness of not only the brand, but introducing them to products that add both interest and value to their spaces.”
Gray is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in fashion merchandising.
