Birdsall Bath Design Is LEED-Certified

July 29, 2010

Birdsall Bath Design (BBD) recently received the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for its showroom. LEED certification is awarded for achieving performance in areas of human and environmental health, such as water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor air quality. To date, more than 14,000 projects in the United States follow the standards.

"This is a tremendous achievement and honor for Birdsall Bath Design," said Michael Murphy, VP of W.A. Birdsall & Co. "This showroom is a testament to what is possible today—less waste, lower costs, higher performance and attractive materials. The USGBC and LEED represent a tough, but noble standard and I am thrilled Birdsall met the challenge and I am grateful for their guidance."

The award was presented by Florence Block, the executive director of the U.S. Green Building Council of New Jersey at Birdsall’s 6,500-sq.-ft. showroom. A proclamation from the U.S. House of Representatives to Birdsall was also presented by Congressman Leonard Lance.
