DuPont Reveals New Corian Design Studio in Shanghai

August 30, 2010

DuPont has unveiled the new DuPont Corian Design Studio in Shanghai, China.  Located at Huashan Square and designed by Michael Young, this new location is the company’s first design studio in Asia-Pacific, established only after its predecessors in Italy (Milan) and USA (New York and Philadelphia).

DuPont hopes to turn the Design Studio Shanghai into a platform for interaction and exchange of ideas among architects and designers, inspiring them to practice innovation. “The DuPont Corian Design Studio Shanghai is adept at bringing Eastern and Western cultures together, drawing from the rich history of Chinese art and building techniques,” said Michael Young.

The showroom showcases the versatility of Corian and how it can be integrated with cutting-edge technologies, from sculpture to furniture to wall cladding.  "Our collective vision was to build a creative workshop for building innovations, where designers can look, touch and feel the energy Corian evokes, said Thomas Schuler, president of DuPont Building Innovations. “We hope to leverage innovative technology to promote cutting-edge designs that can best serve lives with exquisiteness.”
