The International Surface Fabricators Association (ISFA) has announced the nominees for its annual awards. The ISFA awards are chosen by association members and given to those in the industry who have distinguished themselves through creativity, innovative contributions, public service or other noteworthy activities.

The nominees for top honors, the Hall of Fame award, include Jack Hussey, of Jack’s Custom Woodworking in Woburn, MA; and Chuck Sawyer, an industry consultant who has worked with such companies as Formica, Fountainhead and, most recently, Basix. The Hall of Fame award is given to the individual who, in the course of their career, has made significant contributions to the decorative surfacing industry and demonstrated leadership and commitment to the ideals of ISFA.

Nominated for the Fabricator of the Year are Ted Sherrit, of Floform in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada; Steve Stoddard, of Advanced Surfaces in Corry, PA; Ray St. Gelais, of TWD Surfaces in Bridgewater, MA; and Hussey. The honor is given to an individual of a fabricator member company that has best exemplified the ISFA ideals of quality, innovation, character and exemplary service.

Cosentino and U.S. Surface Warehouse are nominated for the Associate of the Year Award. This award is reserved for an associate member company that in the past year has best exemplified the role of servicing the needs of fabricator member companies.

Nominees for the Innovator Award include Karran, in Vincennes, IN; EOS Surfaces, in Portsmouth, VA; and InPro Corp., in Muskego, WI. The award is given to the member firm or individual who goes outside the box to create a product or system that enhances the life or elevates the role of the surface fabricator.

Nominated for the Envision Award are Rick Wing, of R.D. Wing Enterprises in Kirkland, WA, and Harry Hollander, of Moraware in Reno, NV, for excelling in creating something imaginative and special for the surfacing industry.

Award winners will be announced at ISFA’s Annual Member Meeting on August 22, 2012.
