Los Angeles’ "Green" Residential Remodel Opens

April 05, 2010

Learn how to save energy through real-life application. Residential Energy Assessment Services, Inc.’s Zenergy House, a green residential remodel project located in Studio City, CA, opened on April 2, 2010. The house was conceived as a living example and educational tool for learning about how to incorporate greener elements into a home environment.

The one-story home was originally built in 1950 and includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, 2,450-sq.-ft. of living space, and a pool. The home was selected because of its unique architecture and also because its size reflects the national average for square footage.

The Zenergy House will host seminars and tours for architects, builders, designers, government officials, realtors, financial institutions and homeowners through 2010.  The project's major improvements address the mechanical systems, lighting, energy management systems, building envelope, ventilation, water conservation, appliances, interior finishes and renewable energy. The home also showcases green furnishings, textiles, art and wallpaper.

Additional information about tours and seminars can be found online.
