Slovenia's Gorenje has acquired the Swedish based company Asko Appliances Group. The move was designed to strengthen both brands' presence in the Nordic countries, North America and Australia.
Asko’s products include dishwashers, washing machines and dryers produced in Vara, Sweden, as well as cookers, ovens and cold irons in produced in Lahti, Finland. By acquiring Asko, formerly owned by Antonio Merloni Group of Italy, Gorenje gains another brand for its group, which will contribute to the supplementary production of laundry and dishwashers. The acquisition will not have an effect on Gorenje's production employees in Slovenia.
