Forte Builds Virtual Website Stores

In an effort to strengthen its online presence, Forte Buying Group is developing a virtual store to showcase decorative plumbing and hardware industry products. Forte partnered with ayr1, a company that specializes helping manufacturers reach an online audience.

“The Internet is not going away. You can either fight it and lose or develop a strategy to use the web to your advantage,” said Forte president Ted Swenson (Dakota Wholesale). “Forte was attracted to ayr1’s software, because it allows website visitors to view and receive product information while remaining captive on one site. All manufacturing data, from product pictures to specifications, appear on a showroom’s site. There is no need to link to a manufacturer and run the risk that a customer may be sent to other dealers or different web sites.”

The virtual store program will be introduced at the Forte shareholder meeting, which will be held August 26-27, 2010, in Chicago.
